From Camp Garner Creek:
So many have asked how they can help with recovering from Saturday's monster flood.

First of all, our heart goes out to all the families and organizations who also experienced flood damage. This is a critical time for volunteer help for so many.

The 48 hour plan beginning Monday morning is a cleaning phase.
  • Clear out large things, i.e. rock, boulders, fallen concrete walls, clearing roads, etc. Help with skid with skid steers and operators will be a big need.
  • Trees and branches need to be cleared, so chain saws and operators are needed. We have so much down I'd say we can use every volunteer. We won't turn anyone away.
  • We do not yet have water on campus for the next phase of cleaning, but we anticipate beginning with pressure washers and water clean up to begin this Wednesday.
  • Please continue to pray. There is so much more than physical need going on. This is a spiritual and emotional battle for many of us in the eye of the storm.

Pastor Daron Brown and his Executive Pastor Mary Forester along with 4 others were trapped Saturday for three hours in the Waverly Church of the Nazarene sanctuary while flood waters did massive damage to the church building and property.

They are safe and are engaging the community in ministry and service.  On Sunday the Waverly congregation met at 8:00 a.m. for prayer then sent ministry teams into a devastated community and will have a crew on site at the church to begin clean up there.  Pastor Brown has indicated they welcome any and all help as they minister. After 17 inches of rain in a 24-hour period many in Waverly, TN have lost their homes.

If you are interested or know of persons interested in contributing, Daron suggests funds to help 5 pastors who have lost their entire libraries in the flood.  Please feel free to give at the following link here
